PARALLEL HYBRID
ELECTRIC MULTIROTOR
PHEM
The Parallel Hybrid Electric Multirotor (PHEM) architecture is the foundation for enabling Firefly to carry heavy payloads for long durations, 10x longer than all-electric platforms. This core IP is fundamentally scalable and can be adapted to extend flight time and range for compatible eVTOLs/UASs and adopted to work with numerous fuel types.
Differentiation
PHEM combines the power and duration of an internal combustion engine with the responsiveness of an electric motor. The 14x higher energy density of gas over batteries enables increased energy storage and scalable propulsion architecture.
Designed for multirotor UAS, PHEM can be incorporated into hybrid winged configurations to take advantage of its thrust generating efficiencies for longer range/duration applications. The engine and fuel agnostic propulsion architecture makes it adaptable to a wider range of missions and operable supply chains.
